In this edition, teams are challenged to develop a fire detection system capable of detecting fires caused by smoke and fire and raising an early alarm. The system should be able to distinguish different levels of alarm and respond accordingly. In case of simple smoke development, the system should alert the user, while in case of persistent smoke development or a confirmed fire, it automatically alerts the police and fire department. A total of 29 teams are registered in this edition, including teams from different cities and countries. The teams will demonstrate their technical skills and innovation potential to develop the best fire detection system. The awards ceremony and announcement of the winners will take place on September 28, 2024 during a gala where the teams will present their projects and be honored for their achievements. The winning teams will be recognized for their technical excellence, creative approach and ability to implement innovative solutions.

The second edition of the KBH Engineering Challenge promises to be another success and shows how engineers can work together to drive technological innovation.
